My name is Becca and I am from Dunedin, New Zealand.
My husband and I are blessed to be the parents of two beautiful children. (also our beautiful dogs Georgie and Maisie and cat Briar).
I have had an interest in art for several years now, I took classes in art, graphics and design at high school and completed my Diploma in Digital Photography through the Southern Institute of Technology.
I have a keen interest in macro photography, it’s my favourite (plants/flowers, butterflies, bumble bees, spiders etc) but I also love to take photos of animals. I enjoy taking portraits of people and landscapes too but don’t do this as often as macro. I also love taking photos of old wrecks and classic cars.
My goal in photography is to create natural images of the world and the creatures that live in it. I do not specialise in one particular area as there is nothing that I wouldn’t photograph as everything has beauty in it, sometimes it is just harder to see it.
This website/blog was created in 2012, as Becca McLachlan Photography (my maiden name) but I’ve recently updated it (in January 2024) to include my married name, so it’s now Becca Muir Photography, it is place to share my love of photography, my love of nature and all things beautiful.
I would love to hear from anyone who has any cool ideas for things to photograph or just have some comments or constructive criticism, I am always up for learning new ways to do things and to make things work/look better.
Thank you for visiting and supporting me on my journey. 🙂 x
Keep it up 🙂
Thanks. 🙂
Here’s a cool idea, what about taking photos of underwater stuff like reefs, fish, shark ?
I would love to do that, it’s definitely on the cards for the future. 🙂
Hi,
Thanks for following my art page. I really like your duck photo at the top of your page- esp the red of the beak. All the best. Paul!
Thanks heaps, swans are beautiful 🙂 I enjoyed browsing your drawing blog. 🙂
What a wonderful blog!
Thanks 🙂
some of us here are finn fans. could we number ye amongst them as well?
Hello Utahan :), please forgive me but what is a “Finn fan”?
someone whom embraces the musical talent of either Mr Neil or his brother Tim Finn from the nation of New Zeland.
This is a little embarrassing, I’m editing my comment as I was thinking of the wrong musicians yesterday, yes there are many great Finn songs (I just am really bad with names and didn’t know the songs I do like were theirs until my husband pointed a couple out) 🙈
