One of the dogs came into work today covered in these balls which I always thought were called biddy bids but apparently the plant is known as cleavers, clivers, goosegrass, catchweed, stickyweed, robin-run-the-hedge, sticky willy, sticky willow, stickyjack, stickeljack, and grip grass, but these tiny balls are seed pods. Biddy bid is actually the European name for the Piripiri plant (The Māori name for Acaena microphylla, which also has seed pods that stick to fur and clothing) or so the internet would tell me. Anyway, I collected a few so I could photograph them. 🙂

February 8th 2017 – Seed Pods -Galium aparine, with many common names including cleavers, clivers, goosegrass, catchweed, stickyweed, robin-run-the-hedge, sticky willy, sticky willow, stickyjack, stickeljack, and grip grass.

Movie night ❤

Yesterday we welcomed this beautiful little girl into our family. Her name is Briar, she is approx 4 or 5 years. She is adjusting quite nicely after spending the first few hours hiding under my bed (inside the bed base…). Special thanks to Amy for being there and for helping with everything. xx
Briar was just one of the many adult cats (and kittens and dogs and possibly bunnies) that they have at the Otago SPCA, all of which are in desperate need of warm and loving home.
Big thanks to the ladies at the SPCA too. 🙂
